Interview with Facial Esthetics Expert Lance Timmerman DMD
April 9, 2015
When a patient first enters the dental office of Dr Lance Timmerman, they are usually impressed with the comfortable atmosphere. The reception area is decorated in soothing colors, aromatherapy scents and the receptionist is awaiting your arrival with a friendly greeting – calling you by name.
“We have made an extra effort to design our office without the usual look or smells of a typical dental office,” explained Dr Timmerman. “Courses we have taken at LVI (the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies), the Kois Center (Center for Dental
Excellence in Seattle), Aesthetics Advantage at NYU, and other advanced dental training courses have taught us to treat our patients as guests and always provide them with 5 star service. Our goal is to minimize any dental anxieties or stress and help the patient feel as comfortable as possible. We don’t overbook simply to fill up our schedule. A patient’s time is valuable, and we treat each patient as we would want to be treated. Actually, we do more than that. We treat each patient as THEY would like to be treated – with respect and in-tune with both their needs and wants.”
Dr Timmerman is not your regular dentist, and is considered by many to be an expert in facial aesthetics and teaches other dentists his craft. As a member of the International Academy of Facial Aesthetics, the American Academy of Facial Esthetics and the Pacific Training Institute for Facial Aesthetics, he has had training well beyond most dentists when it comes to offering cosmetic dental care, including Botox and dermal fillers like Juvederm.
As a graduate of Oregon Health and Sciences University, school of Dental Medicine, Dr Timmerman wanted to give his patients more than the accepted standard “drill and fill” practice. He sought out the more advanced training in aesthetic dentistry and chose LVI and the Kois Center for his ongoing studies. The creation of a beautiful natural smile is heavily influenced by the talent and skill of the dental professional. An artistic and natural result is ultimately achieved when a dentist has both experience and education in the field of cosmetic and advanced dentistry.
For this reason, Dr Timmerman attains hundreds of hours of continuing education each year, far beyond the minimum 20 hours required to keep his license. His courses include Advanced Functional Esthetics, Full Mouth Reconstruction, the Art of Direct Resin, Botox and Dermal Fillers, in office training for Neuromuscular Dentistry and TMJ therapy, Sleep Apnea alternatives and many other courses.
“Because of the training that I have received,” said Dr Timmerman, “my practice has elevated the standard of dentistry my patients receive. I am committed to provide effective, corrective dental techniques and procedures that maintain and restore dental health to the teeth and gum tissue, and cosmetic and restorative materials that meet the approval of the most discriminating dental professional.
“I personally believe that a smile is a very important aspect of and individual’s presentation to others. Committed to this believe, I designed my private practice as one that not only addresses oral and dental health, but also includes dental procedures that improve the overall appearance of my patients’ teeth. Throughout my years in private practice, I have been able to provide patients who desire a beautiful smile an opportunity to fain one that is aesthetically pleasing and has a natural beauty.”
As one of the premiere dentists, Dr Timmerman has become known worldwide for his expertise. Patients from as far as Europe have travelled to see him for treatment, leading him to take his skills abroad. Now, with licenses in Washington, Iowa, California, Belgium and Dubai, Dr Timmerman is truly an international expert in facial aesthetics.
